For LEGO collectors, the LEGO® Creator Expert Sydney Opera House™ (10234) is more than a pile of bricks, it is a lasting piece of architecture in model form. Released in 2013 as a landmark set, it packs 2,989 pieces into a complex, curved structure that has made it a "holy grail" among fans of Architecture Legos.

Owning a build this size brings its own set of problems: How do you keep it dust-free? How do you stop the white "sails" from yellowing? And how do you turn it into a proper centerpiece for your home?

Building the 10234 is a rewarding trip through some genuinely advanced LEGO engineering:

A Massive Base: The build starts on a blue 48x48 stud baseplate, the largest ever produced, standing in for the deep blue of Sydney Harbor.

The Cleaning Problem: Dust settles easily inside the white sails. Standard cleaning tools like duster brushes often cannot reach these crevices and can leave micro-scratches on the bricks in the process.

Q: How do I get maximum transparency?

A: Every panel ships with a scratch-resistant protective film. Important: peel the film off both sides of every panel before assembly to reveal the fully clear finish.

Q: Where should I put a case this large?

A: Given its 70cm width, place it on a flat, stable surface away from direct heat. Even with UV protection built in, keeping any LEGO set out of direct sunlight is still good practice.
