The LEGO® Technic™ 42240 is based on the Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 Formula 1 car, carrying the team's green-and-black racing identity into a large 1:8 scale Technic build.

The main difference between the real car and the LEGO® 42240 comes down to color.

1. The real car's paint is deeper, cooler, and metallic

The real Aston Martin AMR25 runs a main color close to British Racing Green / Aston Martin Racing Green. In person, it reads as a deep green with a blue-green undertone and a metallic paint reflection.

Under track lighting, it's not a bright, ordinary green. It looks more premium, cooler, and deeper, the way racing green typically does. The official AMR25 is the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team's 2025 season car, and the team revealed this livery at the F1 75 launch event.

2. The LEGO® 42240's green reads brighter and more standard

From the official images, the green used on LEGO® 42240 is closer to the brighter green tones already in LEGO's parts system. It doesn't fully match the deep, metallic racing green of the real car.

LEGO's official listing names the set Aston Martin Aramco AMR25 F1® Car 42240, but since the model is built from plastic elements and LEGO Technic's color options are limited, reproducing the metallic green paint of the real race car exactly isn't really possible.

3. Why is the color difference so noticeable?

Mainly because LEGO doesn't have a standard Technic body panel color that matches the real car's metallic green exactly.

The real car's color depends on metallic paint, carbon fiber, track lighting, and surface reflections, while LEGO works with fixed plastic color tones. Large Technic panels in particular have a more limited color range, so the finished model reads brighter and more like standard "plastic green."
